A INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL PODE SER USADA COMO AUXILIAR NO DIAGNÓSTICO DE TRANSTORNOS MENTAIS?

This article investigates the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an auxiliary tool in the diagnosis of mental disorders, highlighting the benefits, limitations, and ethical and legal implications of its use in psychology. Through a bibliographic review, studies published between 2015 and 2025 were analyzed, focusing on AI applications in mental health. The results indicate that AI can promote early diagnosis and the development of predictive risk models, assisting professionals in screening and identifying disorders. However, challenges such as the need for robust databases, the risk of biases, and the complexity of subjective factors involved in psychological diagnosis limit its application. The article also discusses ethical concerns, such as data privacy and the lack of specific regulations. It concludes that, although promising, AI should be used as a complementary resource, not as a replacement for human clinical judgment, and that clear guidelines for its responsible and ethical adoption in psychological practice are necessary.
