This study analyzes the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in surgery, highlighting its contribution to precision, decision-making, and hospital efficiency. Based on a narrative review (16 articles via PRISMA from databases such as PubMed and BVS), it was found that AI is effective in preoperative planning, robotic surgery execution, and treatment personalization. Advancements are notable in areas such as gastroenterology, orthopedics, and transplants. Challenges remain, including algorithmic bias, poor model calibration, and professional resistance. It is concluded that AI can transform surgical practice, provided that validation, standardization, and ethical use are ensured.
