Abstract

Recommendation Systems (RS) in educational environments have gained significant attention for personalizing and enhancing the learning experience, especially in a scenario where information overload is caused by the increasing volume of online resources. For these and other reasons, Knowledge Graphs (KGs) have gained widespread research interest in recent years due to their significant advantages in mitigating the problems faced by traditional RS. Therefore, this work proposes to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), critically evaluating relevant research on the use of KGs in RS in the field of education. The SLR demonstrated that although the use of KGs in RS is a promising scenario, it still lacks more relevant and focused studies in more specific scenarios with e-learning platforms, adaptive systems, intelligent tutoring systems, and others.
