INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL NA SAÚDE MENTAL: FERRAMENTAS DISRUPTIVAS E NOVAS FRONTEIRAS NO CUIDADO PSICOLÓGICO A PARTIR DA REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA

ABSTRACT
This study investigates the implications of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of mental health, with an emphasis on the ethical, technical, and social impacts on contemporary psychological practice. Through a systematic literature review, the contributions of computer science, cognitive psychology, and neuroscience foundations to the development of AI systems applied to psychological care were analyzed. The main challenges identified include the protection of sensitive data, the preservation of the therapeutic relationship, inequalities in technological access, the need for professional upskilling, and the risk of technological dependence. Simultaneously, opportunities were highlighted, such as expanding access through digital psychotherapy, enhancing psychometric assessments, enabling early diagnosis of mental disorders, using Big Data for predictive analysis, and developing personalized therapeutic interventions. It is concluded that the critical and ethically guided adoption of AI may represent a significant advancement in the promotion of mental health, provided that the subjective complexity of psychological suffering is respected.
