Abstract

The objective of this summary is to review the advances of 3D bioprinting in the context of regenerative medicine, highlighting its clinical applications and the challenges that still limit its broad applicability. Regenerative medicine, by integrating cellular biology, materials engineering, and biotechnology, aims to restore damaged tissues and organs, with 3D bioprinting standing out as an innovative solution for creating complex tissues. This study used a qualitative approach, conducting a narrative literature review by analyzing articles from the PubMed and SciELO databases, resulting in the selection of 6 relevant studies. It is concluded that, although there have been advances in biotinks and deposition techniques, issues such as vascularization of thick tissues and the ideal formulation of biotinks still present significant limitations for the clinical application of 3D bioprinting. 3D bioprinting has shown potential in areas such as dermal grafts and cartilages, but the replication of complex organs still presents challenges.
