Abstract

: Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially ChatGPT, is increasingly integrated into medical education, providing new ways of personalization, interactivity, and support for clinical reasoning. However, ethical and pedagogical challenges remain to be addressed. Objective: This study aims to conduct a narrative literature review to analyze how generative AI has been used as a support tool for learning in medical education, highlighting its main applications, benefits, and limitations. Methodology: A narrative literature review with a qualitative approach, conducted using PubMed, SciELO, and BVS databases, utilizing descriptors related to AI and medical education. Eleven articles published between 2022 and 2025 were selected. Results: AI supports active methodologies, personalized feedback, and clinical simulations, but presents limitations such as information inaccuracy, algorithmic bias risks, and reduced critical thinking. Conclusion: AI, when used ethically and pedagogically, can enhance medical education, but requires faculty training and equitable access for effective integration.
