Improvement of the medical care protocol for children and teenagers victims of sexual violence in Araguari-MG

The main objective of this study is to analyze the reports of sexual violence against children and teenagers in the city of Araguari-MG and obtain the sociodemographic data of the victims. Methodology: The study consists of a cross-sectional quantitative-qualitative analysis, through the verification of individual violence notification forms stored in the Specialized Support Center (CAE) in the last five years. Results: A total of 26 victims were obtained, 21 of which were female and 4 were male. Regarding the means of aggression 50% of the occurrences were due to rape, 3.84% were described as “grandfather messed with her every night” and another (3.84%) as “free will”. Other means reported were sexual abuse (3.84%), physical force/beating (19.23%), threats (15.38%), sexual harassment (23.07%), child pornography (7.69%) and sexism (3.84%). As for the date of occurrence and notification, one form (3.84%) did not have any of the dates, 23 forms were notified in the same year in which the violence occurred (88.46%), one was notified after 10 years of the violence (3.84%) and another after 6 years (3.84%). Conclusion: After analyzing the notifications, it was possible to conclude that there is indeed a need for improvement of the medical care protocol for these victims, since there is a lack of essential information to actually obtain an efficient care network and social protection for children, teenagers and their families in situations of violence in the city of Araguari.
